Dr.Erik Thomasson (Head Of Service) As the Head Of Service, Erik manages the team overall as well as being direct line manager to a couple of the team members. Also, Erik takes every advantage to advertise our service. The team consists of the following people. Community Consultation and Research Team Description of Role - Mainly responsible for the service's customer and
community research activities, including: Valerie Balding - Policy Officer/Job share (with Beenash Faris) Description of Role - Provides policy advice on and helps to deliver
community research and consultation activities. Coordinates the Domestic
Abuse Monitoring Project and provides data for performance management
database on domestic abuse and hate crime. Beenash Faris - Policy Officer/Job share (with Valerie Balding) Description of Role - Provides policy advice on and helps to deliver
community research and consultation activities. Coordinates the Domestic

database on domestic abuse and hate crime. Richard Smith - Policy Officer Description of Role - Main area of work is the development and implementation
of the Council's programme of customer research, particularly online surveys.
Responsibilities include providing advice and assistance to managers and
departments on matters relating to market research projects, including
survey design, agency appointment, analysis, interpretation and presentation
of results. Beverley Nuttall - Assistant Policy Officer Description of Role - Responsible for providing research assistant support
to all parts of the Research and Consultation service and all stages of
research and consultation projects. Includes maintenance, "cleaning"
and analysis of data sets, dealing with requests for information, including
extracting information from the Census using SASPAC software, assistance
in implementing consultation programmes and events, assisting in the production
of publications including the SpeakOut Questionnaire. Stephen Elves - Corporate GIS Manager Description of Role - Mainly responsible for development of strategic
information systems including corporate GIS and web-based systems. Current
work areas include: Yeron Meah - GIS Applications Manager Description of Role - Working on the Corporate GIS Project. Yeron's main
role is to co-ordinate application design. Other responsibilities include
providing consulting services to staff and employees of appropriate partners
and providing appropriate services and support and to manage GIS development
contracts and contractors. John Roberts - GIS Applications Manager Description of Role - Working on the Corporate GIS Project. John’s

Policy Officers (On-line Community Statistics) - 4 Posts Description of Role - The main role of the four Policy Officers is to develop a web-based information and intelligence portal for the District (‘Bradford Observatory’). Description of Role - Mainly responsible for collection, analysis and
reporting on data for the Picture of the District and Bradford in Brief
reports. Also handles one-off requests for information and data, and manages
the Neighbourhood Renewal Data Analysis team and admin support. Jill Hunter - Policy Officer, Safer and Stronger Communities Description of Role - Specific responsibility for research and monitoring
activities in area of crime and disorder, including statutory Crime and
Disorder Audit and "mini-audits". Alan Yaqub - Research & Data Analyst (Neighbourhood Element) Description of Role - Research, analysis and monitoring to provide accurate
profiles, baseline data and monitoring of the effects of interventions
on the quality of life and life opportunities of people living in Neighbourhood

Description of Role - The main role of this post is to ensure that Bradford
Council makes the most of the information from the 2001 Census and subsequent
releases of official population estimates through collation, analysis
and interpretation provision of data and support.
