The 2001 Census did not systematically attempt to classify people that were homeless. Consequently there is little information that can be drawn from the 2001 Census that enables us to quantify the extent of the homelessness issue in Bradford.
The following is a definition of homeless used by the Community of Interest Working Group:

Homeless people are people who are without shelter that is appropriate to their needs. While housing is their priority need, they often need far more support than shelter, because of the period of personal trauma that most homeless people have been through. |
