Population projections

The latest population projections – the revised 2004-based projections were published in September 2007.
They give an indication of future trends in population for the period 2005 – 2029. They are based on recent levels of births, deaths and migration and show what the population will be like if these trends continue. They do not take into account any future policy changes or local development policies that have not yet occurred.
A District population figure is available for each year, together with projections by five year age band and gender.
